Hi Friends,
Many of you may have already heard that this morning the United States Department of Health and Human Services announced proposals for a de facto ban on health care for trans adolescents. These policies will cut government reimbursements to hospitals which provide health care to trans minors — even if the care itself is not funded by Medicare or Medicaid.
Trans health care for adolescents is life-saving, and these totalitarian regulations will cause untold harm on trans youth who rely on this care to live. The policies will be subject to a period of public comment, and I will share more information on how to communicate your thoughts when that period opens.
Today, I want to collate the knowledge resources (some old, some new) from QSL that I hope you will find useful in getting accurate information out to the broader public. Our information environment has deteriorated to the point where education campaigns about trans lives will be critical to winning long-term public support for our basic rights.
First, I’d like to share two infographics that I have created around the biological basis of sex and the effectiveness of trans health care for adolescents. These graphics are optimized for Instagram, but you may share them wherever and however you see fit.

Second, I would like to share past QSL posts that dive deeper into these ideas which I hope can serve as sources of information and starting points for your own evidence-based advocacy.
Last, please be sure to take care yourself during this time. The unending, global attacks on the rights and existence of trans people is unsettling. We all must find ways to attend to our needs during these difficult times.
With love,
ev 💜
